Community Choice Aggregation

What’s it all about?

At the September 20th Sustainable Warwick monthly meeting we heard Peggy Kurtz of Joule Community Power speak about Community Choice Aggregation (CCA), and we learned the following things:

  • In New York State, residents of towns or villages that adopt CCA have more options for their electricity supply.

  • In most cases, residents who participate in the CCA will enjoy savings on their electricity bills.

  • A CCA can help seniors and other vulnerable residents avoid high priced energy supply companies (ESCOs).

  • The CCA can also support renewable energy in New York State and promote the development of community solar.

You can learn about all these things from the video below. Should you have any questions about Community Choice Aggregation, contact Peggy Kurtz: peggy@joulecommunitypower.com
