GMO LABELING ACTION SHEET Be Part of the Solution!

A New York State bill to mandate GMO Labeling in NYS (A.3525) was recently approved in committee in the spring but not voted on. It will come up when the NYS legislature convenes in January, 2015. Another Federal bill (S.3835) that would make it illegal for states to mandate GMO Labeling has been introduced to the U.S. Congress. If you want GMO labeling, please make your voice heard on both of these bills by signing all of the petitions below. Then, share them with friends, family, and in social media, to spread the word.

SIGN THE PETITIONS:

1. Federal

2. State

There are two NYS petitions. One thing that worked well in VT was bombarding the government with GMO Labeling petitions from many different organizations:

MoveOn.org

Food Democracy Now!

VT, CT, and ME did it…so can NY!

What is sustainability?

Sustainability is based on a simple principle: Everything that we need for our survival and well-being depends, either directly or indirectly, on our natural environment.  Sustainability creates and maintains the conditions under which humans and nature can exist in productive harmony, that permit fulfilling the social, economic and other requirements of present and future generations. Sustainability is important to making sure that we have and will continue to have,  the water, materials, and resources to protect human health and our environment. — U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
