Sustainable Warwick encourages everyone to support these sustainability-minded organizations and their events!

Wickham Works is a non-profit community arts organization founded in 2016, comprised of artists, teachers, organizers, advocates, and mentors in the Town of Warwick, NY. Based at Warwick Valley Community Center, they produce public art events and workshops. They team up with individuals, groups, organizations, institutions, and local government — creating multidisciplinary arts programs for all ages, emphasizing creative reuse of materials and shared experience. Grow Local Greenwood Lake: This vibrant and growing organization offers a variety of programs for the Greenwood Lake community. Sharing their love of the earth and growing their own food is a gift they want to give to the next generation. The local Scouts and school groups have joined them for Planting Workshops, Sweet Potato Digs, and a Spiral Herb Garden planting. They’ve instituted Food Scraps Collection at the Farmers Market, Composting at the Community Garden, and Crop Sharing between fellow gardeners. For more information go to growlocalgreenwoodlake.org or contact Chad at growlocalgwl@gmail.com.

Too Good To Toss: Sustainable Warwick was honored to have sponsored TGTT in the early years and we continue to support them as volunteers. This much-loved 2 day event was the brainchild of Elizabeth Knight-Moss and continues to serve our community and inspire us to reuse! They are now sponsored by Wickham Works, you’ll find the current information on this year’s event and the list of unwanted items posted there. If you have questions or want to sign up to volunteer on either day, send an email to the new director, Payton Swenson at TGTTvolunteercoordinator@gmail.com.

Repair Café: The Warwick Repair Café was started by Elizabeth Knight-Moss and continues to flourish under the direction of Joan Maxwell. Repair Café has been near and dear to our hearts from the very beginning. They are now sponsored by Repair Café Hudson Valley and you can get current information at their website. If you’d like to volunteer your repair skills, donate baked goods, or help organize, contact Joan via email. organizerwarwickrepaircafe@aol.com
