DanskammerCoalition.orgThe plant is right next to Newburgh; only used 2% of the time. The proposal is to convert it to a fracked gas plant that runs all the time. Important points to know:

  • It’s not needed (that’s according to NY Independent System Operator)

  • It would increase pollution drastically

  • It would increase GHG emissions

  • Would work against our climate goals

  • Would use fracked gas from other states

  • 21 municipalities have passed resolutions opposing this

Sustainable Warwick has joined other groups in a sign-on letter opposing this plant. To learn more, check out Stoptheplant.org

Off Fossil Fuels has 8 monitors running in the vicinity of the CPV plant; looking for ways to use that data once they have finished collecting it. For more information contact Bill Greene.
