SW collaborates with the Warwick Valley Central School District through The SW Schools Committee. This collaboration has resulted in: a district sustainability policy, teacher-led Green Teams in each school, improved recycling, recycling education for students and staff, and support for a $90,000 EPA grant to the schools that was mainly spent on green curriculum development.

The district had already begun an energy improvement project before SW’s 10% Challenge to reduce energy by 10%, and more than achieved that goal.

Sustainable Warwick applauds the district for installing solar panels to provide electricity for all its schools as well as using that system to educate the students about solar power.
