Sustainable Warwick is sponsoring an educational presentation entitled “Creating a Butterfly Habitat” by Pam Golben on July 21st at 2 PM.  This presentation will be held in the main lodge at Mountain Lake Park and will be followed by an extensive selection of native plants for sale.

Learn about simple ways to create a butterfly habitat that supports all four stages of the butterfly life cycle. Learn what native plants, native host plants, and nectar plants are, and why they are essential for butterfly survival. Discover more about the anatomy of butterflies and about the pollinator life cycle. Learn how to identify some common butterflies and how to provide them with shelter and water. The presentation is intended for adults and for children age 10 and older.

Pam Golben is a local naturalist and environmental educator who has been teaching nature programs for over 30 years. She enjoys inviting people to take a closer look at our amazing local plants and animals. Pam currently works as Senior Educator at the Mamakating Environmental Education Center in Wurtsboro, NY and is owner of Golben Farms, a small native plant nursery.
