  • Urge Gov. Cuomo not to allow the Danskammer power plant in Newburgh to be updated to a fracked gas plant:  518-474-8390

  • Public comments on Danskammer, Orange County Legislature session, Thursday, Oct. 3 at 3:30 p.m. at Government Center, 255 Main St., Goshen (Rules Committee has already approved resolution in favor of Danskammer)

  • Heat pumps info meetups, Thursday, Sept. 26, 6-8 p.m. at Baird’s Tavern; Thursday, Oct. 3 at Wisner Library, 6 p.m.; andSunday, October 13, 12:30 p.m at Greenwood Lake Library.For information on HeatSmart (heat pumps), contact Carolyn Cassata at Energize NY at 914-302-7300 ext. 8107.

  • Jason Touw of Wagon Wheel Farm asked for support in his family’s quest to buy the farm they work and were in process of buying when its owner died. The farm is part of a legacy which is being contested by six charities. You can sign his petition on change.org

  • There are openings for a new treasurer/liaison to Community2gether, 2 new Steering Committee members, and new members on the Membership Committee. Elections will occur in November. Please contact a member of the Steering Committee or email sustainablewarwick5@gmail.com if interested.

  • Pitch night suggestions and people to contact if interested in helping:

    1. expand membership by hiring an intern to help with outreach and schedule paid speakers, bigger names (Bill Greene, drwsg123@gmail.com)

    2. pursue Climate Smart Communities action with Town of Warwick (Bill Makofske, makofske@warwick.net
