CLCPA Scoping Plan: SW will send out another request for people to respond to the CLCPA Scoping Plan draft. Some industries are pushing back on these plans to reduce climate change, so citizen support is needed. Reply by the end of April. climate.ny.gov/Our-Climate-Act/Draft-Scoping-Plan There will also be public hearings around the state on the plan.


Committee Updates

Climate and Energy: The committee will send a letter to the editor about the SW webinar on saving energynow that energy prices are rising. Jody noted that WNYC radio had an interview with Bill McKibben about why this is a good time to pivot to green energy. Pollinators Pathway: Bill G. has contacted the Warwick Gardeners, who are already supportive of pollinator gardens. Discussion of other possible partners. Elizabeth suggested that we develop a map of locations of these gardens in Warwick. The next pollinator garden meeting is Monday, March 21.

Green Screen: The SW Green Screen interviewed all candidates for the village election and results were published in the Advertiser. The full interviews are available on the Green Screen webpage.

Sustainable World Book Club: Christina presented the group's reaction to the March title, Animal, Vegetable, Junk by Mark Bittman. The April book will be The Ministry For the Future by Kim Stanley Robinson. Copies are now available at the front desk at AWPL. Book Club will meet via Zoom on April 12th at 3 PM to discuss it.
